Jamie Cahill is an Irish pianist and composer.
He grew up in Co. Tipperary in the beautiful surrounds of the Galtee mountains. At age 4 he was introduced to the piano by his grandmother, Kathleen. With her loving encouragement he took up formal music lessons while also developing skills in learning to develop his own style of playing.
Playing piano took a back seat for Jamies university years and 20's while work and travel occupied much of his time.
In 2013, Jamie felt drawn back to return to his roots in music. He attended a well known and accomplished Irish composer John Gibson. In his own unique style, John patiently encouraged Jamie to allow the music to come.
Through his continual development he has felt at home composing music that expresses and touches upon meaningful areas in his life. Each of his song tells a story and symbolises trials and tribulations of moving through adversity.
2015 marks the release of Jamies first album "Said Without Words". Dedicated to Kathleen whose encouraging words and patient ears connected him to a world that continues to unfold.
Jamie is currently studying under Sebastian Schneider (Cork School of Music) and renowned composer Frank MacNamara.
Jamies first album incorporates a blend of classical, ballad and Irish folk to create a unique sound.
He has utilised orchestral backing in compositions adding depth to each of the pieces.
His music has been utilised in short film and to friends and family has become a means to wind down after a busy day.
All music composed and produced by Jamie Cahill.
